Historique
Groupe folklorique Landais crée par l'abbé Jean Baptiste LAPEYRE en 1969, à Biscarrosse, il est composé de danseurs au sol, sur échasses ainsi que de musiciens.
Le groupe qui a pris naissance au cours de la saison 1968-1969 se contentait au départ de l'animation de défilés et de fêtes locales, ce n'est que dans les débuts des années 70 qu'il s'est structurer et a pu se faire reconnaitre dans sa specialité.
En 1975, les premières danses anciennes furent mises au point; les costumes furent renouvelés et harmonisés aux modes de la fin du 19e siècle et, de ce fait, nous arrivâmes aux habits traditionnels des bergers landais de jadis et pour les filles aux robes élégantes que leurs ancêtres portaient le dimanche.
Les sorties hors départements se multiplièrent avec la participation à des festivals en France, (Oloron Sainte Marie, Dijon, Le Pereux...).
Mais déjà, à ce moment là, la participation à des spectacles hors des frontières en Allemagne, au Luxembourg, en Hollande, au Portugal...fût le départ des rencontres internationnales. Nous sommes devenus par la suite les ambassadeurs de Biscarrosse dans des villes et des cantons européens en vue des jumelages: Forcheim (Allemagne), Pombal (Portugal), Greystones (Irlande).
Depuis, nos voyages et séjours à l'Etranger se sont multipliés, pour avoir foulé le sol des quatre continents. Notre Odyssée, à ce jour, se poursuit encore et toujours ...
Nous sommes aussi les ambassadeurs de Biscarrosse sur le territoire Français, dans les festivals folkloriques et autres rassemblements, dans les fêtes locales, les kermesses, les foires, les défilés, les inaugurations, les spectacles, les animations, les mariages etc... Ceci nous a amené à visiter la plupart de nos régions et à participer aux plus grands festivals dont pour certains nous fûmes primés et récompensés.
